• Junior Campers have amazing and full days with age appropriate experiences!
  • With water bottles of their own design in hand, the Junior week gives them...
  • ... a chance to discover more than they can at home in the summer.
  • To start, we make sure everyone's got sunscreen & we are on our way with...
  • ... a bus ride to a natural space, like an Open Space / Mountain Park site!
  • We can learn from a naturalist...
  • ... in really hands-on ways.
  • Things really get jumping throughout the camp week!
  • And once everyone feels comfortable with each other and camp - we climb!
  • A great fit for this age group, our 26-foot tower is the newest in town!
  • We'll also cool off at the Spruce Pool, playing big group games...
  • ... with Junior Leaders and staff.
  • We'll do some camp week theme-related crafts. (Check out the Dino Egg!)
  • And Marble-ized Paper!

In each one-week Boulder Junior session, campers have fun making friends and connecting with their counselors and nature.

Based near downtown Boulder, these young campers are outside as much as possible, including trips to Open Space and Mountain Parks, State Parks and the Spruce Pool.

The highlights of this intentionally planned program include: hiking, fishing, teambuilding, crafts, stories and camp songs.

Each Junior session is one week long with its own theme. We also offer a M/W/F option.

Price: $320 for one week. Discounts, payment plans, and camperships are available.

Dates: Sessions are weekdays every week from May 29 - July 20.

Ages: 4.5 - 6 (not completed 1st grade)

Times: Approx. 8:30am - 2:30pm. Extended hours options are available.

Our Junior Program is based near downtown (at Whittier Elementary on 20th and Spruce), but once we get on the bus in the morning, we are off to nearby natural areas such as:

  • Chautauqua
  • Mesa Trailhead
  • Dowdy Draw
  • NCAR
  • Eldorado Canyon
  • and more...

At these areas we hike, explore, learn and play!

By midday we return to our basecamp for much-needed downtime with a craft, story or quiet game.

Each day, campers are picked up and dropped off at locations around Boulder County on the way to and from their daily excursion. Those locations are:

  • Heatherwood Elementary
  • Base Camp (20th & Pine)

We have our own big yellow bus! Our driver, Ed, is a district driver for St. Vrain and has been hired not just for his great driving skills, but for his understand of children. There will almost always be additional counselors on the bus to help Ed supervise, lead songs, and check in with each camper.
