AO’s two-week sleep away camp is our flagship program for boys and girls ages 9-15. Located just west of Boulder, CO., campers make lifelong memories and friends while enjoying the magic of summer in the mountains. Our two-week program places an emphasis on choice, and gives campers the opportunity to try out many different activities, or, if they find one (or more) that they particularly like, to focus on individual activities. We offer sailing, backpacking, rock climbing, arts and crafts, nature and ecology, boating, theatre, horseback riding, and new this year, culinary arts, all offered in a supportive, non-competitive, and “un-plugged” environment.

In addition to our program areas, campers take part in all camp events, evening campfires, and special programming.   Counselors, who are trained in specific areas of instruction, as well as the developmental needs of 9-15 year olds, provide a fun and nurturing environment for campers.

AO Camps is located just west of Boulder, CO in scenic Coal Creek Canyon. With 135-acres, and an eight acre lake, campers have an abundance of space to explore the beautiful Colorado mountains.
Two week campers live in clean, bright, rustic cabins with a central bath house. We have a 1:5 counselor to camper ratio.
