We Get Kids Into Nature

At Altogether Outdoors, we want nature-based experiences to be up close and personal. In an increasingly screen-based world, children need to connect with their natural surroundings more than ever, in order to understand the importance of protecting wild spaces and natural resources on an individual and communal level. AO is fortunate to be located in or near the beautiful Rocky Mountains, where nature is our playground, literally. Our goal is to show campers how to have fun in the natural world, while treating it with the proper respect and reverence, now and in the future. AO uses the many educational and natural resources in the communities in which we operate to enhance the fun of exploration and complement our own program activities.

How We Do It:

Leave No Trace environmental ethics provide the basis for much of our nature-based play. They strengthen campers’ sense of responsibility for their surroundings and their connection with the natural world. These ethics include:

  • Know Before You Go
  • Choose The Right Path
  • Trash Your Trash
  • Leave What You Find
  • Be Careful With Fire
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Kind To Other Visitors
